Welcome Statement

Welcome to a new, unique and different not-for-profit organization in Boynton Beach, Florida. The Palm Beach Center for Jewish Art blends the notion of a gallery with a scholarly venue for the enjoyment, appreciation and purchase of fine quality art in all media by contemporary Jewish Artists. The Palm Beach Center for Jewish Art will create a synergistic relationship between artists, collectors and the general public and serve as a liaison between these groups.

Mission Statement

  • To provide a venue and exhibition space for Jewish artists whose art work deals with Judaic content and issues.
  • To provide a venue for collectors of Judaica to purchase high quality works by emerging and mid career artists.
  • To be a resource center for people to learn more about Jewish texts, history and cultural issues as expressed through the visual arts.
  • To be a resource center for people to actually create their
    own Judaic art forms.
  • To be a resource center to enable people to dispose of Judaic art other than ceremonial objects.

Our Museum of Jewish Art

The core of the Palm Beach Center for Jewish Art will be 4-6 high quality exhibitions per year. All media including painting, sculpture, ceramics, fiberarts, jewelry, illuminated manuscripts, and digital and installation art will be shown.

These exhibitions will be in the following categories:

  • Jewish Artists whose work has a Judaic content or reference point
  • Israeli Artists
  • Jewish Women's Projects which are visual arts based
  • Estate sales and retrospectives of Jewish Artists
  • Holocaust Remembrance Projects primarily created by children of survivors

Classes

The Palm Beach Center for Jewish Art will offer courses to enable people to create their own Jewish art objects. These courses will include all media and would be open to beginning to advanced students.

The Center will provide practicums or institutes for teachers in Day Schools and Sunday Religious Schools. Classes will include Hebrew Calligraphy, Hebrew Micrography, visual interpretation of texts, and creation of ceremonial objects.

The Palm Beach Center for Jewish Art will serve as a resource for synagogues and other organizations to connect with artists to commission specific objects.

Lectures and Tours

The Palm Beach Center for Jewish Art will create a synergistic relationship between artists, collectors and the general public and serve as liaison between these groups.

Speakers will be available to lead lively discussions and interactive visual presentations at neighborhood communities, philanthropic groups, and libraries.

Special tours will be arranged to visit private collections, museums, galleries, Jewish sites, and other special events of Jewish interest.
